Event Safety Institute now offers the accredited Introduction to Crowd Science course not only in Sydney but also in Perth. Roderick van Gelder will be teaching. This allows more Australian professionals to join this internationally accredited level 5 course close to home.
The new course dates for Perth are 4 to 6 October 2022. ESI has also changed the dates for the course in Sydney due to circumstances, from 16-18 August to 27-29 September 2022. The location has been updated and the course will take place at the Hilton Sydney.
The purpose of this unique course is developing more awareness about the behaviour of crowds and individuals in the crowd, and their reactions to certain developments. The course also gives insight into how public behaviour can be modelled and how certain techniques that contribute to public safety can be applied.
We focus on anticipating and preventing crowd related accidents and incidents in places of public assembly. This approach is outlined in the book “Introduction to Crowd Science”, which is included in the course, and taught in a short course as an Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) route for direct entry to a number of Msc programmes in the UK.
